In partnership with the UWF Department of Anthropology and the UWF Archaeology Institute, join us for the next Archaeology on Tap program at Odd Colony Brewing Company!
This October, grab a drink and settle in as Dr. John Worth, UWF Anthropology Professor and principal investigator of the Luna Settlement site, presents:
“What Have We Learned? Ten Years of Archaeology at the Luna Settlement”
From his start as a high school volunteer on archaeological digs to becoming lead investigator for one of the most significant discoveries in U.S. history, Dr. Worth has spent his career uncovering the hidden stories of the past. A leading expert on Spanish colonial history, he directs research at the Tristán de Luna settlement, discovered in a Pensacola neighborhood in 2015 and recognized as the oldest established multi-year European settlement in the continental United States.
Don’t miss this chance to hear what a decade of excavation has revealed about this groundbreaking site and its place in our nation’s history.
